Where the Story Began

“I spent three months in Australia and still couldn’t find a sofa I truly satisfied.”

That was the first thing Anna said to us when she reached out in 2022.

She had just moved into her new home in Melbourne and was excited to start furnishing it. But that excitement quickly turned into frustration. In local furniture stores, the styles she liked were far beyond her budget, while the more affordable options fell short in both design and quality.

She was looking for three things at once—good design, reliable quality, and a fair price—but couldn’t seem to find them in a single option.

Then, during a phone call with a friend in Guangdong, China, things began to change.

After hearing Anna’s concerns, her friend immediately recommended our founder, Joe Zhang. As a returning customer who had personally experienced our service, she was happy to pass that trust on to someone else.

Anna quickly shared her requirements with us: a genuine leather sofa, a dining chair set, beds for three bedrooms, two wool rugs, and custom curtains for the entire home, along with reference images.

That became our very first overseas order.

Three months later, Anna received everything and was full of praise.

That was also when we realized that Anna’s problem was not an isolated case. It reflected a common challenge faced by many overseas customers: they knew China offered excellent furniture, but they simply did not know how to buy it with confidence.

As Anna told us:

“I always knew Chinese can produce the best furniture, I just never knew how to buy it until I found you.”

At the same time, we were also looking toward a broader market.
And so, the seed of HomeBridge was planted.

Back in the 1990s, as Hong Kong capital and manufacturing expertise flowed into Shenzhen during China’s reform era, the region saw the rise of its first generation of furniture factories. That was when Joe’s family entered the industry.

Starting from the factory floor, Joe’s family built their experience step by step—from basic production roles, to model-making assistants, to lead sample makers. With years of accumulated know-how and industry resources, Joe’s father and uncle founded their own sofa factory in 1996. At its peak, the factory worked with more than 80 retail stores across China.

Growing up in this environment, Joe developed a deep understanding of the furniture business from the ground up. From order follow-up and workshop management to sales and customer service, he was involved in nearly every part of the industry.
In 2023, as China fully reopened after the pandemic and international travel and trade resumed, Joe officially turned his focus to overseas markets.

The Growth of HomeBridge

HomeBridge was officially founded in Shenzhen in 2023.

Shenzhen sits at the intersection of Foshan, Dongguan, and Huizhou—three of China’s key furniture manufacturing hubs. It is also adjacent to Hong Kong and home to two world-class cargo ports, Shekou and Yantian.

This strategic location allows us to efficiently connect manufacturing resources, supply chains, and international logistics, enabling faster response times, more accurate factory matching, and more reliable delivery.

Today, HomeBridge works closely with more than 90 carefully selected benchmark factories across a wide range of categories, including furniture, lighting, curtains, rugs, and home décor accessories.

Our service goes far beyond simply helping customers place orders. We provide one-stop support throughout the entire sourcing and delivery process, including:

· sampling, material selection, and detail confirmation
· production follow-up and quality control
· cross-border payment support
· international shipping, customs clearance, and delivery coordination

We have grown into a team of more than 20 professionals, and we are still expanding.

We understand products, craftsmanship, and supply chains—but more importantly, we understand what overseas customers care about most in cross-border sourcing: smooth communication, stable quality, transparent processes, and reliable delivery.

Today, our clients are spread across more than 40 countries and regions, and we serve over 100 clients each year.
